One Word

This guy Brian came to discipleship school last week and spoke to our class. He said one simple truth “God gives us a word, and we write a story.” How many times have I done that?! Too many to count. God says “Jasmine, I’m going to provide for you.” I say “okay, thank God I can’t wait for my $75,000 a year job with the best insurance plan, company phone and car. Nowhere did God say that. But too often we, especially women, take what God says and write a novel.

One sentence has changed my view of my relationship with God. I must stop myself from adding to the words God said. If he says it, I must believe that it will happen. There is nothing else to rest on. He will make it happen, I wont have to.
